UpCharity Romania
Our Vision
UpCharity Romania is an organization devoted to bringing out the best in vulnerable children & youth in the village of Haghig, Romania, through education and support. They believe that, with the right tools & know-how, these underprivileged children can overcome hardship, discover & develop their talents, and make an independent, satisfying, and good-hearted living.
The Germaise Influence
Don has been to Romania to work with UpCharity 11 times over the past 13 years. He first brought Lexi to Romania in 2015, and she has since been back 5 times and was invited to join the Board of Directors for UpCharity.
Don and Lexi have both worked hard building the community center, teaching conversational English in local schools, donating school supplies, Ukraine relief, and building the farm and country manor, which will provide income for the center and housing for volunteers.
The Grand Opening
On August 19, 2023 the UpCharity Romania Haghig Community Hub held its grand opening. After a lot of hard work and long days, the center opened with a huge party. Many city officials, local government, friends, family, and even press were in attendance. Don, along with a local radio personality, emceed the successful event.
